The early years are where

everything begins.

This is when children:

  • Form beliefs about themselves as learners

  • Develop emotional awareness

  • Begin to respond to challenge and frustration

Some children are already showing early signs of additional needs, including traits associated with autism or developmental differences, and may already be in the process of assessment or waiting for support.

These children may:

  • Feel overwhelmed more easily

  • Struggle with transitions or change

  • Find it difficult to communicate their needs

  • Experience heightened frustration or anxiety

The challenge in early years settings

Early years practitioners are working in increasingly complex environments, supporting both learning & emotional wellbeing every day.

Staff are:

  • Managing frequent emotional outbursts and dysregulation

  • Supporting multiple high-needs children within one group

  • Expected to meet learning outcomes alongside wellbeing needs

  • Navigating limited time, resources, and specialist support

There is often:

  • A lack of simple, consistent tools that can be used in the moment

  • No shared language across staff, children, and parents

  • Increasing pressure to “manage behaviour” without addressing the root cause

The Reality:

  • Staff are doing their best in complex environments…

  • but need practical, accessible approaches that work within the flow of the day

A playful, preventative approach to emotional wellbeing and learning

There is often:

  • A lack of simple, consistent tools that can be used in the moment

  • No shared language across staff, children, and parents

  • Increasing pressure to “manage behaviour” without addressing the root cause

The Reality:

Staff are doing their best in complex environments, but need practical, accessible approaches that work within the flow of the day

A Trauma Informed Approach

All sessions are delivered with a trauma-informed

understanding, recognising that behaviour is often a reflection of underlying experiences.

We prioritise creating safe, predictable environments where children feel secure enough to engage. Rather than pushing children to perform, we support them to regulate and feel ready to learn.

All sessions are delivered with a trauma-informed lens

This means:

  • Understanding how experiences impact behaviour

  • Creating safe, predictable environments

  • Supporting regulation before expectation

  • Children are not pushed - they are supported to feel safe enough to learn

Movement & Mindfulness

Each session blends elements of Yoga and Mindfulness with movement, play, and imagination.

Children are guided through breathing exercises, relaxation, and creative storytelling in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

Sessions are carefully tailored to the children, supporting both their physical and emotional wellbeing and include:

  • Movement and play

  • Breathing exercises

  • Relaxation

  • Imaginative storytelling

Benefits for your setting

Settings often notice a positive shift in children’s emotional awareness, resilience, and overall engagement.

Transitions

become calmer, group times more settled, and children begin to respond more positively to challenges.

Perhaps most importantly, a shared language develops across staff and children, creating consistency throughout the setting.

Children develop:

  • Confidence to try
